Call for Workshops & Tutorials

We invite proposals for 1.5h workshops and tutorials to be held during the All Hands Meeting of the German AI Competence Centers and the ELIAS Alliance FROntier AI Summit to discuss emerging research directions, open problems, and novel methodologies in frontier AI.

We welcome proposals across all areas of artificial intelligence. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to: agentic self-improving systems, world models, long-horizon reasoning, multi-modality, safe AI, causal AI and as well as application fields such as education, science, administration, open-source initiatives and social impacts of AI.

We especially encourage proposals for collaborative workshops that foster exchange and cooperation across multiple German AI Centers and/or ELIAS nodes.

 

Format

  • Date and time: Thursday, Oct 8, 2026, 9:00-10:30
  • Place: Messe Stuttgart
  • Format: Workshops or tutorials (e.g., invited talks, contributed talks, panel discussions, or interactive sessions)
  • We’re hosting in-person workshops only

 

Submission Guidelines

Proposals should be at most 2 pages (excluding references) and must include:

  • Title and organizing team (names, affiliations, contact information)
  • Motivation and scope, including relevance and timeliness
  • Description of format and structure, including a tentative schedule
  • List of invited speakers (if applicable)
  • Expected audience and anticipated outcomes

Workshops and tutorials are expected to align with the scientific standards and community practices of top-tier AI venues. All submissions will be reviewed by a scientific committee.

Review Criteria

Proposals will be evaluated based on:

  • Scientific quality and clarity of the proposal
  • Relevance to the community and timeliness of the topic
  • Potential to spark new research directions
  • Diversity and inclusion in all forms
  • Organization and feasibility within the allotted time

We can host up to 8 workshops in parallel. 

 

Funding

We are unable to provide travel funding for workshop organizers or speakers.

  • Workshop application open: June 10, 2026
  • Workshop application deadline: July 20, 2026, end of day
  • Notification of acceptance: July 31, 2026
  • Workshop date: 8 October 2026 – 9:00-10:30
